TreeHugger has an interesting article this morning on the rising “slow city” movement, an offshoot of the slow food movement.
What the heck is a slow city? There are a set of rules, but banning cars from the city center in order to preserve traditional feel is the likely first step.

REI just implemented a new labeling system (and an improved product lineup) that outlines clothing with reduced environmental impact. Called ecoSensitive, the descriptions and tags now show which products are made with organic cotton and outline the recycled content in those polyester fibers.
