Make it From Scratch Carnival!

Thanks to Stephanie at Stop the Ride for a second opportunity to host Make it From Scratch. I am truly inspired by the folks who are out there making things themselves and love being part of a community that is not only experimenting with creativity in the kitchen or craft room, but also rejecting the idea that everything anyone could ever want or need could be bought for $3.99 and made in China.

Oh, so crafty!

Tasty treats

Do you enjoy making things yourself? Participate in Make it From Scratch! Next week’s host is I’ve Got A Little Space to Fill.

    Thanks Julie!
BTW I am jealous of your zucchini abundance. Mine have fallen to squash bugs again. Grrr! Can’t get those pests under control!

Yay! Love that you are hosting. 2 of my favorite things — yr blog and MIFS — in one spot! Nice job.

Stephanie, I have to admit that my zucchini plant is struggling this year too. But I have a CSA and a neighbor that are keeping me overwhelmed with zukes.

Now I just have to put my Master Gardener hat on and say that you can control squash bugs by keeping the ground under the plant debris/mulch free and using diatomaceous earth–organic, cheap, and easy to use, although you have to reapply after rain. Probably too late to do much this year, but next year, you’ll be ready!

Thanks. They are gone now, but I will do that next year. I lost them last year to borers, and I am really missing being buried under zucchini! :)
